Two brothers, Joseph G. and Thomas Steet, originally founded United Auto in 1945; it's now in its third generation of ownership under Joseph A. and Joseph T. Steet. Their dedication to family values, work ethic, and discipline have cultivated United Auto Sales of Utica into what the dealership is today.
In 1997, Joseph Steet and Steven Ponte came together to purchase and create Steet Toyota Scion of Yorkville. This was the official beginning of Auto Group. At various points throughout the 2000s, Steve and the Steet brothers acquired various other dealerships, creating Steet-Ponte Chevy, Steet-Ponte Ford Lincoln, Steet Toyota Scion of Johnstown Gloversville, Steet-Ponte Volkswagen, and Steet Ponte Mazda. In 2013, Steet-Ponte Chevy, Steet Toyota Scion of Yorkville, and United Auto Sales were renovated into the state-of-the-art facilities they are today.
